When do you need to update your application?

You are responsible for updating your application information during the 30 day period of January 15 – February 15 and again during the period of July 15 – August 15. Failure to update your information during this time period will automatically drop you from the wait list. If you applied for the Low Rent Housing Program and your household consists of less than five individuals your Low Rent Housing wait list application will be dropped. We only have three and four bedroom homes. Your Housing Choice Voucher application will remain in place. Only the Low Rent Housing wait list application is dropped. You will be assigned a position based on your selected preference (if applicable), date, and time of application. The wait list is updated on the 5th business day of the month. Plano Housing Authority will not release any wait list information over the telephone. Click the Waiting Lists tab for more information about when we will accept applications and for contact information for other Housing Authorities. Remember to always check your junk/spam e-mail folder. We will e-mail you to let you know when you need to let you know to come in to the office for briefings. We cannot control where your e-mail provider delivers our e-mail.

We are temporarily suspending all briefings and closing our lobby to the public

We are temporarily suspending all briefings to prevent any possible spread of any type of illness. This means that we will NOT be doing any type of port in or relocation briefings. Any existing participant that needs to relocate should contact their existing counselor. Any portability activity will be completed virtually. We are currently suspending annual HQS inspections as well. The only HQS inspection that will be completed is for new move in’s or relocations or emergency inspections. This process is to limit the potential of spreading any type of illness. We are preemptively and voluntarily implementing the above steps. Once the threat of the COVID virus is significantly reduced we will return to our normal processes of briefings and inspections. If you need to drop off paperwork you will need to use the gray mailbox located outside of our office. All of our forms are online so you can fill them out online and then submit them to us without ever coming to the office. You can contact your counselor by e-mail or phone.
